Denbury Homes steps up for the 2026 Housebuilder Challenge

Twelve team members from Denbury Homes are putting their best foot forward to raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust by taking on this year’s Housebuilder Challenge.

On Friday 11 September, two teams of six will hike 20 miles along the iconic Jurassic Coast. With the challenge expected to take between eight and ten hours, training is well under way, and a little friendly rivalry has emerged as the teams compete to raise the most money for the charity.

Training has already taken the teams to some impressive heights. Members tackled Yr Wyddfa, formerly known as Snowdon, completing the climb and descent in less than four hours. In the Lake District, team member Jasmine Travers took on the route to Stickle Tarn, followed by the Grade 1 scramble up Jack’s Rake, helping her prepare for the challenge ahead.

Lee Barnard, CEO at Denbury Homes, said: “There is great enthusiasm across Denbury Homes as we support our colleagues preparing to take on this challenge. Having participated last year, I know first-hand how much training and determination it takes to complete the hike. The Youth Adventure Trust is an incredibly worthwhile charity, and we are proud to help fund its important work supporting young people to build resilience, develop confidence and learn new skills.”

The 20-mile hike will raise funds for the Youth Adventure Trust, a youth development charity that supports vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16. Through outdoor activities and experiences, the charity helps young people to build resilience, develop confidence, learn new skills, and challenge themselves.
