Formerly known as Hopkins & Moore, Denbury Homes has been building and selling quality new homes across East Anglia for almost 40 years. With a new head office in Bury St Edmunds, and a passionate, collaborative team focused on growth, we are now looking for an experienced Sales Consultant to work across our developments in Suffolk.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience selling new homes for another developer and be comfortable taking the sole responsibility of running a sales office. The role will involve selling new homes, guiding purchasers through the house buying journey from reservation to completion, always ensuring excellent customer service.

Applicants must have outstanding communication skills, be IT literate and have a working knowledge of MS Office, CRM systems and COINS. The expectation is to drive up to an hour to work so own transport and a UK driving license is essential.

The role is for Thursday to Monday working 9.45am to 5pm.

Benefits include a competitive salary, mileage, commission on a per plot basis, and a bonus scheme. Upon completion of a probationary period, enrolment company pension scheme, life insurance and healthcare. Commission also applies on a per plot basis.

Denbury Homes is a rebranding of Hopkins and Moore following the sale of its sister company Hopkins Homes in January 2022. Since 1986, Denbury Homes has been building high quality, beautiful homes, that stand the test of time, receiving countless accolades both regionally and nationally.

Following the rebranding and relocation to a new headquarters near Bury St. Edmunds, Denbury Homes are looking to build the team and employ a Land Estimator who will be responsible for all aspects of the Land Estimation process.

This role is based within the Land and Development Team which focuses on acquiring land in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, and Bedfordshire.  The team manage all aspects of the pre-development process including Land, Planning, Design, Engineering and Technical.   You will be an integral part of this team and act as a crucial link between Construction and Land.

Responsible To

Scope of Work

  • Preparing land cost appraisals and estimate costs for new land opportunities.
  • Prepare and complete site-specific take offs to inform the land appraisals, following the issue of working drawings.
  • Liaise with the Commercial/Technical/Engineering teams to consider alternative site strategies.
  • Ability to understand and analyse documentation from planning and technical to inform land appraisals.
  • Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts which will be presented to the wider company.
  • Ability to cashflow developments based on anticipated start dates in order to accurately measure ROCE.
  • Ability to create and present an overview of completed land appraisal to the Land Director prior to bid submissions.
  • Monitoring latest costs and technologies with the Commercial and Technical teams accordingly

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous construction experience with at least 5-10 years in the sector
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Good knowledge of the Company’s operational area being Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire preferred
  • COINS experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently, to be self-motivated and well organised
  • The ability to get on with people together with communication skills for dealing with multi-disciplinary teams
  • The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in an efficient and speedy manner
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word)

Denbury Homes is a rebranding of Hopkins and Moore following the sale of its sister company Hopkins Homes in January 2022. Since 1986, we have been building high quality beautiful homes across the East of England. Following the re branding and relocation to our new headquarters in Bury St Edmunds, we are looking to expand the Commercial Team by recruiting a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will learn commercial practises within the house building sector. Your main role is to act as a support mechanism for the Commercial team, which from experience we believe is a fantastic way of learning a multitude of skills. You will primarily support the Commercial team and the Director of Operations in the commercial management of various new build residential schemes across East Anglia.

Your role will involve an array of tasks including assisting with the tendering process and the preparation of contractual documentation, as well as producing reports, reviewing and processing subcontractor invoices, data input for budgets and general administrative roles.

Ideal requirements for this role include excellent communication and organisational skills. Good numeracy skills are desirable. The individual should have the ability to work as part of a team, but also be disciplined and self-motivated to manage individual workload to strict deadlines. Computer literate with competency in Microsoft packages. Equally important, is seeking an individual with the right attitude and the desire to learn.

The ideal candidate would be an A Level or NVQ student who has or is about to receive their results. Ie someone working towards or looking to undertake a relevant degree/higher qualification in a Commercial/Construction based course- ideally starting this September. The successful candidate will hold a minimum of four GCSEs at Grade C, or Grade 4 or above, which should include English and Maths. We would also consider someone who is already enrolled on a full-time course which can be converted into a part time course.

This is a full time/permanent position with excellent opportunities of progression subject to the individual’s performance. An immediate start is also available.

In return, we will offer a competitive salary (DOE) and after completion of probationary period, optional pension and private healthcare incentives are available. The company will also offer the necessary training and support as required. As you progress, further benefits are also on the table in the form of a company car or a car allowance. You must have clean driving license and proof of being able to live/work in the UK.
