Denbury Homes partners with Eyke CofE Primary School for creative show home design challenge

Denbury Homes is delighted to announce a collaboration with Eyke Church of England Primary School, inviting pupils to design a child’s bedroom for the new show home at the Oak Grove development in Eyke, Suffolk.

A total of 103 pupils, aged 4-11, participated in the bedroom design challenge. Each pupil was provided with a colour palette, mood board, and activity sheet to help guide their creative process. From these entries, six designs were shortlisted by Denbury Homes for final consideration. One winning design will be brought to life in the Oak Grove show home, allowing the young designer to see their vision transformed into a real space.

With the development located near the school, the initiative offered pupils a meaningful, real-world design experience. It also strengthened community ties and supported local education by encouraging creativity. In addition to inspiring young talent, the competition has given Denbury Homes imaginative interior design ideas from a young person’s perspective.

Lucie Fairweather, Headteacher of Eyke CofE Primary School, commented: “This design challenge has given our pupils a chance to express their creativity and explore the thought process behind designing a bedroom space. Working with Denbury Homes has enabled us to extend learning beyond the classroom, offering an enriching experience for our pupils that closely aligns with our School Aim ‘to inspire and celebrate aspirations and high standards of work’. We look forward to seeing which design is chosen as the winner.”

The winner will be selected by Denbury Homes in collaboration with leading interior designers from the Suffolk-based firm Rendall & Wright. The winning bedroom will be showcased in the Oak Grove show home, set to open in November 2025.

Monty Beaton, Head of Sales and Marketing at Denbury Homes, said: “The creativity and originality shown by all the pupils has been exceptional. Choosing a winner will not be easy. We are truly excited to see the winning design brought to life and are grateful to Eyke CofE Primary School for their enthusiastic support throughout this inspiring project.”

This collaboration marks a meaningful step in Denbury Homes’ continued commitment to community engagement and education enrichment. By involving local pupils in a hands-on creative process, the project showcases the benefit of meaningful partnerships and the positive impact they can have on the wider community. Denbury Homes is proud to have partnered with Eyke CofE Primary School and looks forward to unveiling the winning bedroom design at the Oak Grove development show home opening on the 8th November 2025.
