Due to planned growth we are seeking a motivated, highly driven, and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team at our head offices in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 3WD.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be accountable for the commercial management of various new build residential projects across East Anglia reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.

Due to planned growth we are seeking a motivated, highly driven, and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team at our head offices in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 3WD.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be accountable for the commercial management and reporting of various new build residential projects across East Anglia reporting directly to the Commercial Manager. We will consider all levels, from Trainee to Senior, but do need someone who can hit the ground running, taking on 4-5 of their own projects from day 1.
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business with exciting plans for the near and distant future. You will join a small Commercial team as sole QS, along with a Trainee Surveyor, with the opportunity to grow the team as the business grows and achieves its goals.

Ideal requirements for this role include:
– Good knowledge of Quantity Surveying practices and procedures.
– Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (BSc) or similar (HNC/HND). (preferred)
– Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
– A good understanding of construction practices and contractual procedures.
– The ability to work as part of a team, but also be disciplined and self-motivated to manage individual workload to strict deadlines.
– Computer literate with competency in Microsoft packages.
– Knowledge of COINS (preferred).
– Previous experience in new build residential sector (preferred).
Main duties will include:
– Collating tender documentation.
– Carrying out the full tender process.
– Subcontractor appraisal and assessment.
– Contract award and contract management alongside the construction team.
– Providing cost estimates.
– Cost planning/forecasting.
– Budget management and cost reporting.
– Valuations and processing payments.
– Variation control and management.
– Attending site visits and project team meetings.
